The machines directive states that for dangerous machines to be put into operation, comprehensive safety measures must be taken to protect the people who use them. One of the measures is to protect the automatic drive device with a significant risk of cutting edge and crushing damage. In order to prevent the risk of cutting edge and breakage, safety sensitive touch edge can be used.
For example, some typical Applications, machine protection, lifting platform, theater stage, etc. When you trigger the safety edge, the power will go off immediately. Before the safety touch was introduced at the beginning of the day, there were either electric operating devices based on the N/O principle (when the safety edge is touched, two conductive bands or layers are connected) or standard optoelectronic systems of choice (the beam is interrupted). A device like this operates by signal, which needs to be converted and processed by the control unit.
Machines and equipment with dangerous movement must be equipped with emergency stop devices. The device is monitored by an appropriate safety relay unit.
Our safety contact is set up in the form of a contact chain in series with mechanical N/C switches. The conductive contact roll and the insulation adjustment unit (wedge roll) are alternately arranged on the expansion line. Through the pretension, the contact rollers are squeezed together to connect the current. The impact force causes the wedge to move and disconnects at least one pair of contact rollers in the safety contact side, so that the current is interrupted. Because the current interruption produces a signal, the circuit interrupt signal is directly available without the need for output signal conversion. The interrupt signal is transmitted to the safety relay control and is received directly by the emergency stop button.
The sensor portion of the safety touch edge is directly behind the rubber. The disconnection is not caused by the deflection of the contact chain, but by the conversion of external radial forces to axial forces.
